You would think, considering that wellbeing is literally my job, that I would remember to grasp some of the absolutely basics of mindfulness. I don't know how many times I've said to people who are struggling with burnout Your worth is not measured by your productivity

But after a very unproductive, stressful, day where I felt like I achieved nothing other than spinning my wheels, I was the one who needed that reminder. I was feeling very frustrated - I had a plan for the day and nothing went my way. My energy got completely zapped, I went from 'get up and go', to wanting to curl up miserably under a blanket.

Luckily Alex is an amazing human being who takes absolutely no mind when I'm being snippy and grumpy. They ran me a lovely hot bubble bath, put some Placebo on Spotify and cooked dinner while I soaked. After we ate, they gave me a footrub, we talked through my frustrations and I came up with a game plan for moving forwards on the project I'm working on

They reminded me that even on a day when I don't feel like I achieve anything, I still matter. That other people's failure to respond to me is not a sign that I'm incompetent. That it was just a single bad day, and tomorrow another day.
